The National Weather Service warns that Thursday and Friday may see excessive heat risk. WGN’s weather people say a heat wave is brewing for Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

When ever I think I’m not enjoying the summer, I always think back to last winter when it was negative 20 degrees and we had snow quakes.

I did the same last winter. I just thought about the days when it felt like it was 100 plus degrees.

I like the blue skies of summer and the heat, as long as I am able to get into air conditioning.

I admit, I like it when it’s snowing and cold.

It’s nice to have a variety of weather to make me appreciate it all.

I like all of the roadwork in Cedar Lake and around Northwest Indiana. After a brutal winter that tore up the roads, it’s nice to ride on brand new smooth asphalt.

I lost a hub cap last year because of a pot hole. I didn’t suffer that fate this year, but I’m all for a little traffic delays and detours if I don’t have to worry about popping a tire or denting a car rim.

Plus, construction work means money for the construction workers. It’s a win-win.
