Settlements for Indiana veterans with mesothelioma exposed to cancer-causing asbestos on military bases?

Asbestos companies might have to pay Indiana veterans exposed to cancer causing asbestos while serving the country settlements, reports mesothelioma.com.

Vets have about 30% of that mesothelioma cancer cases, says the veteran’s web site.

Iraq War vets could have cancer related to asbestos used in their military service, says Military.com.

Vets can get mesothelioma from asbestos used in buildings, airplanes, ships and other military projects, writes mesothelioma.net. Navy vets on ships during the Vietnam War are at risk, according to the web site.

Air Force vets, Army vets, Marines and Coast Guard members are also at risk, according to mesotheliomahub.com.

It takes decades to discover the illness, according to experts. It could take from 10 to 50 years for a diagnosis.

Because it takes many years for doctors to diagnose a veteran with service-related mesothelioma, the site says many vets are just discovering they have the disease.

Military.com writes that many military bases used asbestos in their operations leading to many vets with mesothelioma.

Another type of case besides the veteran cases involves baby powder users who say they came down with mesothelioma.

The baby powder users filed lawsuits. They complain they developed mesothelioma. Companies mixed talc with asbestos, according to the suits. The cancer lawsuits are ongoing.

I’m not a lawyer, so seek out legal help.

Asbestos companies have set up trust funds for mesothelioma cancer victims. A licensed attorney can help you know if you have a claim to the settlement funds. Lawyers will tell you if you can use a trust fund or need to file a suit.
